The Russian State Registration Chamber

The equivalent of the Trade Register in Russia is the State Registration Chamber, organized by the Russian Ministry of Justice. Its organizational structure is divided into three headquarters: the Organization and Supervision Department, the Administration and General Services Department, Accreditation and Visa Support Department.
   
The First organization has to ensure provision of personnel support to the Chamber, to ensure compliance with labor regulations, obligations of the Chamber's employees, to ensure social security for the employees, to prepare editions and publications of documents of the Chamber and, most importantly to manage and execute the acceptance, registration and safekeeping of the incoming documents. The Administration and General Services Department is authorized to conduct administrative activities.
   
The Accreditation and Visa Support Department has, as main activities, to accept and release documents required for registration of branches and representatives of foreign offices of legal entities, to accept and release documents required for registration into the Uniform State register, which deals with foreign companies, and to issue visas for employees.
   
The Russian State Registration Chamber regulates the formation of new Russian companies, acquiring company documents, analyzing and offering accreditation for Russian and foreign companies on the territory of the Russian Federation. The institution is also responsible for providing information of the methodology of registration and for registered companies, headquarters and registered offices, managing board etc. The State Register has to incorporate changes requested by company representatives, and the procedure is being settled by a judge who requests additional information, or issues approval in a short period of time.
   
The Russian State Register or Trade Registry is also available for registration of new companies, through internet, as sending and obtaining information is also done via e-mail. The institution is obliged, under law, to issue official copies of the registered documents and to provide information as to the existence of documents in its database. The State Registration Chamber issues the certificate of registration in the Composite State Register in two to three weeks, but urgently it can be obtained in three to five days, upon fee payment.
