Registering a company in Belgium is done through the Central Commercial Register. The Ministry of Agriculture and Middle Classes has granted the management of the institution to Euro DB. Collecting data, safekeeping it and creating a good communication environment between state authorities and entities.
Coface Services Belgium is the executive distributor of Banque Carrefour des Entreprises and they store collected information on commercial or other company types, VAT data, National Social Security and even protests.
A newly formed company should be registered with the Central Commercial Register of Belgium, and in order to do so, relevant company information and documents should be submitted along with an application for registration. The documents submitted should contain articles of association, company charter, legal address of the company, list of members, shareholders names and addresses, social capital and business activities of the company. The company is issued a registration certificate in a short period of time, once the application is accepted . However, if the registration certificate is not issued, the institution will probably request additional information.
The Central Commercial Register of Belgium should be notified in case of major changes in the company. These include replacement of managers, directors, address, or even change of company status, for example from partnership into Limited Liability Company.
Another important task of Coface Services which manage the Central Commercial Register of Belgium is monitoring companies, in order to inform anyone on the status of a company, for example bankruptcy, bad payer etc. For best results with using the system, anyone can create a user account and choose different specifications. A user can choose to be notified by e-mail if a certain company is in bankruptcy, or has difficulties paying services. The user account also enables searching through the Central Commercial Register of Belgium’s databases, using different criteria as company names, date of incorporation etc.
The role of the Central Commercial Register of Belgium is to enable a good communication between state authorities and institutions and facilitating the flow of information for public interest. The Internet system ensures quick access to reliable information and it can be used by anyone.
